Our club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organisation comprising a global network of 1.4 million volunteers in about 46,000 clubs in over 200 countries.

One of the Lions’ key objectives, proposed by Helen Keller, is to be Knights of the Blind, and Lions Clubs International raise funds for sight programs at home and overseas. The Lions also support the Measles and Rubella Initiative, which is dedicated to the global elimination of measles and rubella, in conjunction with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

When a humanitarian crisis strikes, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) works with and is guided by members of local Lions Clubs who are ordinary people present on the ground. The task of providing aid can be challenging but Lions are committed to ensuring their efforts genuinely help victims.

Bed Race is our single largest event and up to Covid 19 was held every year since 1966. There is a whole website devoted to it above so just click on it to find out more.
